The faculty has signed various agreements with partner institutions:

• European partner institutions (Erasmus+) (BILAKS)
• Non-European partner institutions (BIRAKS)
• Erasmus Belgica: partner institution in French-speaking Belgium
• Double Degree

When choosing your destinations, take into account:

• Your language skills and the language level required by the partner institution
• Your study programme (possibly graduation) and the availability of that study programme at the partner institution
• The possibility of taking a GIT at the partner institution, the possibility of a GIT at UGent does not automatically imply the possibility of a GIT at the partner institution
• The semester schedule and the academic year at the partner institution. The academic calendars at the partner institutions very often differ from the academic calendar followed by UGent. In some cases the academic year and semester starts early (earlier) or ends late (later). If there is a high probability that you will have to do resit exams , it is advisable to choose for a destination where the academic year starts late (later)
• Standard of living, price level, availability of scholarships

The number of exchange places for each agreement is usually 2 to 4 students for a semester.

How many partner universities should I select? How many exchange applications should I submit in Oasis? As many as possible. If you submit only one application for one destination, the chance of actually being appointed to that specific destination is very small. We therefore recommend that you select at least 4 destinations. Bear in mind that you can also be selected for your 4th choice. So do not submit destinations that you really don't want to go to. Also bear in mind that submitting 10 applications does not necessarily lead to selection. If you submit 10 destinations that are very popular that year, it is possible that all these places have already been given to students with better results.
